The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the AAFP Foundation partner with us on an annual project called “Physicians With Heart” that aims to improve health in the former Soviet Union. Through a grant from the U.S. government, our partnership has led medical-education initiations, delivered more than $130 million worth of medical aid, advanced primary care as the backbone of national health systems, and raised the quality of life for vulnerable children and families in 10 of the former Soviet republics since 1993. The AAFP and its 96,000 members are also staunch supporters of our disaster-relief efforts in the U.S. and around the world.
