It started with the simple idea of bringing help to people in Russia. That idea transformed into a project using the U.S. State Department’s largest cargo plane to deliver 75 tons of aid to Russia. On May 22, 1992, the plane touched down in Moscow with enough medicineĀ and supplies to stockĀ the shelves of 32 hospitals and 9 orphanages. And Heart to Heart International was born. Since that day 27 years ago, we have delivered aid to more than 130 countries and facilitated more than 1.1 million volunteer hours, changing an untold number of lives along the way. To commemorate this first aid shipment and everything that’s been accomplished since, we are launching Heart to Heart International’s first annual Big Give. From now until May 22, every donation will be matched up to $10,000. You have the chance to double your impact by sending twice as many medicines, twice as many supplies, and changing twice as many lives. |
