When Hurricane Beryl made landfall as the earliest Category 5 hurricane in history, Heart to Heart International responded with multiple shipments of aid to the Caribbean and Texas. These shipments included medicine, medical supplies and thousands of hygiene kits. Kits were delivered to Convoy of Hope, Children Like Loni, Salvation Army, East Harris Empowerment Council, Water Mission and Global Empowerment Mission.
Children Like Loni distributed the kits to many of the families they regularly work with, providing critical hygienic needs when many of these items were hard to come by after the storm. East Harris Empowerment Council distributed kits at two events where the organization assisted families with hygiene kits, socks, back to school backpacks, books to promote literacy, and assisted families with storm recovery and mental health awareness.
Additional shipments of aid are being prepared for delivery to our partner Food For The Poor for its work in Jamaica after the hurricane.
We are grateful to have strong partnerships with many organizations working in the affected areas. These pre-existing relationships allows us to quickly and efficiently deliver aid when and where it is needed most in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.
