Hygiene kits for earthquake survivors in Turkey
After Türkiye (Turkey) and Syria’s 7.8 magnitude earthquake and its incredibly strong aftershocks in February, hundreds of thousands of people lost homes and loved ones. HHI has been working with various local organizations on the ground to distribute medicines and hygiene kits to people in need. One local nonprofit, Empati Derneği, distributed kits to families at a temporary distribution store as well as at schools and through volunteers traveling to rural villages. Read more.

June 1 is the start of hurricane season. As a Heart to Heart International Disaster Response Specialist, Maddy Langemach has been working with the rest of the Disaster Response Team to ensure that we are ready to respond swiftly and effectively to any potential hurricanes and their aftermath. The team tracks hurricanes and storm systems through several sources, including NOAA and the app Hurricane Tracker. Find out from Maddy what else the team watches to be prepared!
