Earthquakes in Myanmar and Thailand Leave Thousands in Urgent Need
Heart to Heart International is actively responding to the devastation caused by earthquakes in Myanmar and Thailand.
A catastrophic 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28, causing widespread devastation and claiming over 2,700 lives so far. In response, Heart to Heart International is mobilizing to address the immense needs of survivors.
Our Disaster Response Team is deploying an assessment team to Bangkok this week to coordinate with local and international partners, assess the ongoing situation, and ensure the delivery of vital medical supplies. Simultaneously, shipments of aid are being prepared for dispatch from our headquarters.
The impact of this disaster is compounded by powerful aftershocks, including a 6.7 tremor and numerous others exceeding magnitude 5.0. Significant disruptions to transport, power, telecommunications, and water are anticipated for weeks, and the death toll is expected to rise.
