November 2022
We couldn’t do it without you.
From earthquakes to hurricanes to refugee crises, we can always count on your support to help us deliver life-saving medicines and medical aid to people in need.
Thank you for joining us on this mission to improve health access throughout the United States and the world.
When Hurricane Ian crashed into Florida on September 28, Heart to Heart International rapidly responded to help people impacted by the destructive storm.
Our disaster response medical team deployed to Florida and treated patients in under-resourced areas of DeSoto and Lee counties for two weeks after the storm.
In addition to providing free medical care, we distributed more than 13,000 hygiene kits to people impacted by the storm and are continuing to support local health clinics working to rebuild.
The following story from the response shows how important healthcare access is in the aftermath of a disaster.
“A young woman with diabetes was able to come to our clinic multiple times during the two weeks we worked in Arcadia, Florida, in DeSoto county. She was in need of insulin but had been unable to get more from her pharmacy, and her home didn’t have power to keep it refrigerated. She was afraid that she would need to start rationing her insulin until she could get another prescription. Heart to Heart International was able to give her several doses of life-saving insulin to keep her healthy until her power was restored.”
Thanks to our many incredibly generous donors, including the Glazer family, owners of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, we were able to position portable health clinics in support of two local healthcare facilities that had been badly damaged in the storm.
These relocatable clinics will fill the gap in healthcare access while the local clinics are being repaired. These clinics provide healthcare services regardless of income or insurance status.
“Heart to Heart International’s clinic gives us the opportunity to give people the care they need in the place they need it in a timely fashion,” said Trey Fletcher whose organization Healthcare Network received one of the relocatable clinics.
Heart to Heart International continues to provide medicines, medical supplies and portable medical clinics to help the people of Ukraine. More than $88 million in medical aid and 130,000 hygiene kits have been sent, and 11 portable medical clinics have arrived and are being used in Ukraine. In fact, in the town of Kiyinka, one of those portable medical clinics was being used to treat patients after the town’s healthcare clinic was damaged. After it was repaired, officials moved the portable medical clinic to the neighboring town of Yagidne, which had just lost its paramedic station in a bombing. The paramedic is now able to use the clinic to see and treat patients in the town thanks to this clinic.
Giving Tuesday will be here on November 29! This international day of giving began in 2012 and celebrates the power of radical generosity. It’s a simple idea: whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger, or giving to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts toward building the better world we all want to live in.
On the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, join the movement by donating for Giving Tuesday and helping those in need of health access around the world.
Want to get a head start? Any donation you make below will count toward our Giving Tuesday goal!

Good news! We can now receive mail at our street address: 11550 Renner Blvd.
Lenexa, KS 66219.
We had been using a PO Box address for mail, which unfortunately led to some confusion. To make things simpler for everyone, we are now able to receive mail at our headquarters. We hope this change makes it easier for anyone sending donations and any other mail.
