Ohio Valley Flooding Response

The Ohio Valley is facing a crisis. Torrential downpours have caused devastating multi-state floods, submerging homes and roads, leaving thousands in need. Kentucky’s flooding is especially severe, prompting a disaster declaration from the governor. Now, these same areas, already reeling from the Ohio Valley flooding, face another threat: freezing temperatures, ice, and snow this week. Heart to Heart International is responding quickly to bring relief.

Addressing Immediate Needs: Hygiene Kits

In the immediate aftermath of a disaster, basic necessities become critical. We’re dispatching a shipment of hygiene kits to our partner, Gleaning for the World. These kits contain essential items like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and other personal care products – small things that can make a big difference to families who have lost everything. We worked with Gleaning for the World during our Hurricane Helene response, and we know they’ll ensure these supplies reach those who need them most.

Assessing the Damage: Partnering for Broader Support

We’re not stopping there. We’re actively connecting with our network of partners in Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia and Alabama to understand the full scope of the damage and identify the most pressing needs in response to the Ohio Valley flooding. We’re committed to supporting these communities in any way we can.
