The partnership between Heart to Heart International and Intouch Group began when Intouch created a community engagement project with its local employees. Staying true to the company’s social responsibility platform, Intouch partnered with HHI for in-person hygiene kit building events (pre-COVID-19). The groups assembled hygiene kits with their Overland Park employees. The kits include standard hygiene items plus items for infection prevention, including gloves, cloth face coverings, and hand sanitizing wipes.
Intouch was also one of the first companies to immediately donate funds to assist financially in early spring 2020 at the onset of the outbreak of COVID-19. Intouch donated $100,000 to fund the launch of HHI’s new infection prevention and control (IPC) training program available at no cost to nonprofit organizations and businesses. The training is based on guidance from the CDC and WHO, providing information about COVID-19 and how to prevent its spread. Aligned with a philosophy of helping local communities improve health and well-being, the training is aimed at community groups and healthcare-focused businesses.
The partnership demonstrates Intouch Group’s exceptional philanthropic leadership. The organization was able to quickly recognize the problem, take action and make a significant local impact with its financial contribution.
Wendy Blackburn, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Intouch Group, joined the Heart to Heart International Board of Directors in 2019. In the short time she has been on the board, Wendy has been instrumental in her leadership, and she has been more than willing to share her business communications experience to the leadership staff at HHI.
Intouch Group is a privately-held network of marketing agency services and operates with a dedication to the life sciences and the belief that there is no challenge too big to cure. This mantra carries through everything the agency produces. The Overland Park-based global agency network serving the pharmaceutical industry is a parent organization for the agency’s six affiliates with more than 1,000 employees and eight offices throughout the world. However, beyond the statistics of a highly-successful, multi-location, rapidly-advancing digital and innovative agency, the people and philosophies at Intouch Group are dedicated to social responsibility contributing to the health and well-being of local communities.
