More than 1,300 people in Kansas City, Kansas, were left without access to medical care after the Duchesne Clinic closed in June. To help, Heart to Heart International (HHI) is working with other organizations to provide temporary care.
Together, the group decided to set up a temporary medical clinic to provide primary care to patients with urgent needs until they can transition to permanent care providers. On July 10, HHI began collaborating with Care Beyond the Boulevard to provide basic healthcare services Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. using HHI’s mobile medical van in the Community Health Council of Wyandotte County’s parking lot
HHI is also working with Mercy and Truth, a clinic that 800 former Duchesne patients are now visiting. HHI has provided the clinic with medical equipment and supplies to help them handle the extra patients.
HHI is dedicated to making our community a healthier place by working alongside partners to ensure everyone has access to the care they need.
